Over the past centuries, the sentient races, due mostly to advances in bio-medical sciences, have elevated themselves above the evolutionary process. As a result genetic mutations within humanoids have been not only allowed to flourish but to reproduce. This has resulted in a de-evolving of the sentient races into a more primitive species.
